barbieThe famous Mattel doll, Barbie, has been making the rounds in the news lately. Recently, she turned 50 years old and has been featured in fashion shows as part of the celebration. The Barbie craze, according to Victoria News reporter Rozsan Holmen, appears to have spilled over into eBay-the world’s largest virtual market.

In her article, Holmen features AERS data to explain the recent Barbie trends:

“In the last 90 days, 312,000 Barbie related items sold on ebay.com for $7 million USD, according to data from AERS. There are 2,800 sellers per day with an average price per purchase of $22.60.”
